She graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010, where she studied Geography and the Environment. She started her company Texas Beeworks in December 2012.

Her company was featured in an episode of Jeopardy! in May 2019, where they filmed some video clues at the Texas Beeworks headquarters in Austin. She also started a YouTube channel where she posts educational and instructional videos about beekeeping.
