ABOUT EUGEN SACHARIAS
Twentieth-century Estonian architect associated with both the functionalist and art deco movements.
He received his education from the Czech Technical University from 1925 until 1931. He would become one of Tallinn's foremost designers.
He designed large apartment buildings, small villas, and several churches during his architectural career.
He and his family fled Soviet-occupied Estonia in 1941, settling first in Germany and then in Australia.
He was a contemporary of fellow Estonian architect Raine Karp .
