American radio personality and hip-hop promoter best known for his hit song "Be Faithful" and for hosting the Full Throttle Radio Worldwide podcast. Having gained a wide following, he also worked as a consultant for aspiring and practicing musicians.
He earned his stage name after appearing as an ice cream-serving movie theater worker in the music video for the song Killing Me Softly by The Fugees.
He frequently appeared as himself on the Cartoon Network series The Boondocks . He won two Grammy Awards throughout his career. On his podcast, he interviewed a wide range of figures in the entertainment industry, such as Jemele Hill , Plaxico Burress , Slim Thug , and Cedric the Entertainer .
He married Shanda Freeman. During the summer of 2024, he collapsed on stage and was announced dead the next day.
He was given his Fatman Scoop nickname by Fugees rapper and singer Lauryn Hill .
