ABOUT FENTON ROBINSON

Chicago blues guitarist who was nominated for a Grammy Award for his second album, I Hear Some Blues Downstairs, in 1977.

He moved to Chicago, like so many of his fellow blues musicians, to escape the plantation work of the South.

He was as big in Japan, where he was called "the mellow blues genius," as he was stateside.

He grew up on a cotton plantation in Greenwood, Mississippi.

Boz Skaggs' first record included the Felton-penned song "Somebody Loan Me a Dime," which was misattributed to Skaggs and touched off a lengthy court case.
