ABOUT FRANCIS SUAREZ

Politician and attorney who became the 43rd mayor of Miami, Florida in 2017. He gained mainstream attention in 2020 when he recruited companies and executives to move to Miami.

He earned a law degree from the University of Florida in 2004.

He became the first Miami-born individual to serve as mayor of the city. As an attorney, he worked with the firm Greenspoon Marder.  In 2023 he filed to run for president of the United States.

He was raised with four younger siblings. His father Xavier Suarez also served as the mayor of Miami.

He is a cousin of fellow politician Alex X. Mooney , who served in the Maryland State Senate.
