French sculptor who made bronze statues, including an equestrian statue of Louis XIV , displayed in the Place Louis le Grand in Paris.

He apprenticed for a joiner and a wood carver.

His statue of Louis XIV was melted down during the French Revolution.

His parents raised him in Troyes.

He is well known for his bust of Maria Theresa .
