Frank Sinkwich
ABOUT FRANK SINKWICH
Known as Flatfoot Sinkwich, he won the Heisman Trophy with the University of Georgia Bulldogs, playing halfback and quarterback.
He was a standout athlete in high school, and joined the Bulldogs on the condition that his friend George Poschner would join on a scholarship as well.
He played professionally as the running back for the Detroit Lions, earning two Pro Bowl sections and a league MVP award in 1944.
His parents were Croatian immigrants from Russian Georgia, who settled in Pennsylvania and ran a grocery business.
Aaron Murray also played quarterback at the University of Georgia.
