He began his professional career playing for the Red Sox rookie affiliate team the GCL Red Sox.

He made his major league debut pitching against the Minnesota Twins on September 2, 2015.

He is a native of Sainagua, Dominican Republic. He lives with his wife, Nicholette, and their two children.
