Southpaw reliever that was originally signed by the Tampa Bay Rays as a rookie free agent in 2013. He was later packaged in a trade that sent him to the St. Louis Cardinals in July 2018. A few years later, he was named the Cardinals' fourth-best MLB prospect in 2020.

He initially began his professional career playing for the DSL Rays. The following season, he was sent to the Princeton Rays.

He is the first baseball player in MLB history to wear the number 92. Before changing his number to 92 in 2020, his original jersey number was 61. His baseball fame has garnered him more than 60,000 followers on his Instagram.

He is a native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
