Democratic politician who campaigned for the presidency in 1984 and 1988. He was frontrunner in 1988 until word got out that he was having an affair.
He served as a Colorado senator from 1975 to 1987.
He's written four novels: two under his own name in 1984 and 1985, and two under the pen name John Blackthorn in 1999 and 2000.
He married Lee Ludwig Hart in 1958.
Stephen King 's Dark Tower series features an alternate reality where Hart won the presidential election.
