ABOUT GARY THOMAS

Perhaps best known for his Christian-themed bestseller Sacred Marriage, this inspirational writer and Baptist pastor also penned a Gold Medallion Award-winning book titled Authentic Faith.

After graduating from Western Washington University with a degree in English, he studied systematic (Christian) theology at Regent College in Canada and went on to earn his Doctor of Divinity from Western Seminary in Oregon.

Beginning in 2010, he served the congregation of Houston's Second Baptist Church as both a pastor and a writer-in-residence.

A native of Puyallup, Washington, he later settled in Texas with his wife Lisa and the couple's three children.

He and evangelist Rick Warren both wrote bestselling Christian books.
