ABOUT GAVIN BLYTH
Television producer and journalist who is best known for being the series producer of the ITV soap opera Emmerdale . In the year 2002, he became a senior publicist at the popular show. In January of 2009, he took over the job of overseeing the show.
In the year 1985, he started work as a journalist at his father's company Mercury Press Agency in Liverpool. He was a sports writer, and then worked as a photographer.
He worked at Caters News Agency and became the editor and manager of its operations. In the year 2005, he was appointed as a story associate on Coronation Street . In May of 2011, he was posthumously awarded the Special Achievement Award at the British Soap Awards.
He was the father of actor Tom Blyth . He had another son named Carter and a daughter named Anya.
He signed many popular performers to Emmerdale including Kim Thomson , James Sutton , Suzanne Shaw and Pauline Quirke .
