ABOUT GENE LAVANCHY

Journalist and radio and TV personality known for hosting Boston's Fox 25 Morning News. He also worked as a sportscaster for Rhode Island, Florida, and Massachusetts television stations.

He studied broadcast journalism at Emerson College and launched his career with the WJCC-AM radio station in Norfolk, Massachusetts.

He hosted the Sports Xtra program on Boston's channel WHDH.

He was raised in Walpole, Massachusetts, where he and his wife Anne-Marie later settled with their children.

He and fellow broadcast journalist Dave Briggs both worked as sportscasters for Boston television stations.
