ABOUT GEOFFREY YORK
Journalist and author who is The Globe and Mail's Africa Bureau Chief, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a veteran war correspondent who has covered war zones since 1992, and has received several journalistic awards.
He became a foreign correspondent for The Globe and Mail in 1994. He served seven years as the Moscow Bureau Chief and seven years as the Beijing Bureau Chief.
He has published the books People of the Pines, The Dispossessed, and The High Price of Health.
He was born in South Africa on the 30th of May, 1960.
