ABOUT GEORGE BENTON
Former boxing professional, most recognized for defeating world champions like Freddie Little and Joey Giardello.
He started participating in amateur competitions when he was only 13, and turned pro three years later.
He was inducted into the International Boxing Hall Of Fame in 2001.
He was born-and-raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He and fellow boxer Carlos Monzon have both been inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.
