ABOUT GEORGE DANIEL
Early nineteenth-century English novelist, poet, playwright, and collector of books. His literary works include The Disagreeable Surprise (farcical play) and Merrie England in the Olden Time (essays and anecdotes).
He wrote a three-volume novel entitled Dick Distich when he was just eighteen years old. At the age of sixteen, he published a poetic piece entitled "Stanzas on Nelson's Victory and Death."
His play Doctor Bolus premiered at the English Opera House in 1818.
Following his father's 1796 death, he studied at a boarding school in Paddington Green, England.
He collected folio editions of the works of renowned playwright William Shakespeare .
