ABOUT GEORGE SHUFFLER
Bluegrass guitarist who invented the crosspicking style of playing who has played with Ralph Stanley 's Clinch Mountain Boys.
He gained early success in 1952 with the Stanley Brothers.
Growing up in rural North Carolina required him to order a guitar by mail and to teach himself how to play.
His father was a banjo player and his mother sang.
He was inspired by Merle Travis .
