ABOUT GEORGE STERLING

American poet and dramatist best known for his poem "A Wine of Wizardry." He was a key figure in the northern Californian literary scene of the early twentieth century.

He worked as a real estate broker for nearly twenty years.

His sole piece of children's literature was entitled The Saga of the Pony Express.

He was the oldest of nine children born to a New York physician.

He wrote a poem that was featured in The San Francisco Examiner, a publication founded by William Randolph Hearst .
