ABOUT GEORGE TURNER
Australian writer and literary critic best known for his science fiction novels, The Cupboard Under the Stairs and The Lame Dog Man. His 1988 novel, The Sea and Summer won the prestigious Arthur C. Clarke Award.
He served in the Australian Imperial Forces during World War II and later reviewed science fiction for the newspaper The Age.
In 1984, he published his autobiography titled In the Heart or in the Head: An Essay in Time Travel.
He was born in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, where he lived much of his life.
He was to be a guest of honor at AussieCon Three, The World Science Fiction Convention, where the Peter Weir film The Truman Show was honored.
