ABOUT GEORGE WISE
American sociologist who served as the first president of Tel Aviv University from 1963 to 1971. He was best known as an expert in Latin American and Israeli affairs.
He graduated from Furman University in 1928.
He got his advanced studies at Columbia University .
He married Florence Rosenberg, who died in 2013 at the age of one hundred. His real name was George Schneiweis.
Former Prime Minister of Israel Menachem Begin described him as "the dearest man I ever met."
