ABOUT GIOVANNY GALLEGOS
Veteran relief pitcher that was first signed by the New York Yankees as an international free agent in 2012. He was later traded to the St. Louis Cardinals in July 2018. He played for Team Mexico during the 2017 World Baseball Classic.
He initially began his professional career pitching for the GCL Yankees. The following season, he was sent to the Staten Island Yankees.
He is also known by the nickname El Yaqui. He has earned more than 30,000 followers on his personal giogalle45 Instagram page.
He is a native of the Ciudad Obregon, Mexico area. In fact, he still lives in Mexico with his family during the offseason.
He was once involved in a trade that also included Luke Voit .
