ABOUT GLADYS MARIN
Political activist who served as the President of the Communist Party of Chile from 2002 until her death from brain cancer in 2005. She is best known for his opposition to the dictatorship of General Augusto Pinochet .
She was born to a peasant and a school teacher.
She ran for president of Chile in 1999.
She got married in 1963 and had two children.
She filed the first lawsuit against Augusto Pinochet , accusing him of human rights violations.
