Blogger and founder of the popular decor site Design*Sponge, which she started in 2004. She also founded D*S Biz Ladies Series in 2008, which originally started as a series of meetups for women running creative businesses and is now a weekly column on her site.

She previously contributed as an editor to Domino, House & Garden and Craft magazines, among others.

She has been a special guest on talk shows such as Good Morning America, NBC's The Chew, The Martha Stewart Show, and Martha Stewart Radio Show.

She has lived in Brooklyn and Hudson Valley. She married Julia Turshen.

She has been featured on The Nate Berkus Show.
