ABOUT GRIFFIN CANNING

Right-handed starting pitcher that was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels during the 47th round of the 2017 Major League Draft. Prior to being drafted, he attended UCLA where pitched for three seasons. During his junior season, he was named a member of the first-team All-Pac-12.

He is a graduate of Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California. As a senior, he led his team to the 2014 CIF SS Division I Championship.

He made his official major league debut pitching against the Toronto Blue Jays on April 30, 2019. He pitched four innings and collected six strikeouts.

Growing up, he lived with his family in Mission Viejo, California. He is the youngest of two brothers.

He credited Zack Greinke as being one of his biggest baseball influences growing up.
