Born Albert George Cernik, he has sold over forty-four million records, including six million singles.
After leaving the Navy, he sang for Carmen Cavallaro's big band.
In 1957, he began hosting The Guy Mitchell Show.
He married Miss USA Jackie Loughery and later married Miss Denmark Elsa Sorensen. His third wife, Betty, was married to him for twenty-five years.
He portrayed George Romack in 1961's detective series, Whispering Smith, alongside Audie Murphy .
