ABOUT HANK BAUER

Former MLB right fielder who won 7 World Series Championships with the New York Yankees between 1948 and 1959, then coached the Baltimore Orioles to a World Series Championship in 1966.

He wore clothing made of old feed sacks because of his family's extreme poverty.

He was a 3-time All-Star selection during his 14-year MLB career.

He married the Kansas City Blue's office secretary Charlene Friede in the early 1950s.

Tommy Lasorda called him a tough player, saying "Bauer had a face that looked like it'd hold two days of rain."
