ABOUT HANNAH WEINER

American Language Poet known for The Fast, Spoke, Clairvoyant Journal, and other collections. Several of her works, including Little Books/Indians, deal with political issues affecting Native Americans.

She graduated from Radcliffe College in 1950. Two decades later, she published her debut poetry collection.

She suffered from schizophrenia, a condition that likely influenced her forays into psychic channeling and automatic writing.

Her birth name was Hannah Finegold, and she was raised in Providence, Rhode Island. Her marriage lasted four years and ended in divorce.

Her first poetry chapbook, The Magritte Poems, was inspired by the artist Rene Magritte .
