Harry Agganis
ABOUT HARRY AGGANIS
Major League Baseball and college football star nicknamed "The Golden Greek" who played for the Boston Red Sox from 1944 to 1955. He died unexpectedly of pneumonia at age 26.
He was a star quarterback at Boston University, where he set the single-season school record for passing yards.
Boston University opened the Agganis Arena in his memory in 2005.
He had four brothers and two sisters.
He played under manager Joe Cronin in Boston.
