ABOUT HARTLEY PEAVEY

Famous for founding the highly successful Peavey Electronics audio and music equipment company, this Mississippi-born entrepreneur became a member of his state's Musicians Hall of Fame in 2001.

He began building music amplifiers during his teenage years.

Before entering the business world, he earned a bachelor's degree from Mississippi State University.

He was born and raised in Meridian, Mississippi.

He and singer and guitarist Tom Scholz both built guitar amplifiers.
