ABOUT HENRI TROYAT
Acclaimed fiction writer, biographer, and historian whose more than 100 French-language works include L’Araigne, Les Ponts de Paris, and La Neige en deuil.
He published his debut novel, Faux Jour, in 1935. Three years later, he received the prestigious Prix Goncourt.
His most famous novel, La neige en deuil, was adapted into a 1956 film entitled The Mountain.
He was born in Moscow, Russia. He and his family relocated to Paris, France in 1920.
He wrote a biography of acclaimed Russian playwright Anton Chekhov .
