ABOUT HENRY J RUGGS III
Former professional athlete who played in the National Football League for two seasons. He was selected by the Las Vegas Raiders in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft. In November 2021, he caused a car crash that killed a 23-year-old woman. In May of 2023, he pled guilty to a felony count of driving under the influence resulting in death and a misdemeanor count of vehicular manslaughter.
He attended Robert E. Lee High School in Montgomery, Alabama. In the year 2017, 247Sports.com ranked him as the second-best high school football player in Alabama.
He received scholarship offers from more than 20 colleges to play football. He attended the University of Alabama . He was a member of the team that won the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship.
In May of 2020, he and his girlfriend Rudy Washington welcomed a daughter. In the year 2018, his brother Kevontae played college football for the University of Mississippi . The following year, he transferred to East Mississippi Community College.
He and Derek Carr were teammates through the Raiders.
