ABOUT HOWARD KENDALL
Former midfielder from 1963 to 1981 who became a manager for 20 years after retirement.
He played his youth career at Preston North End from 1961 to 1963 before making his senior career debut for the club.
As he transitioned from being a player to a manager, he acted simultaneously in both roles for two teams: the Blackburn Rovers from 1979 to 1981 and Everton in 1981.
He raised three children.
At Everton he managed star player Duncan Ferguson .
