ABOUT HOWARD MOSS

Former poetry editor for The New Yorker who was also an award-winning poet, dramatist, and critic. His literary works include A Swimmer in the Air, Finding Them Lost, and The Folding Green.

He studied at the University of Michigan, where he was a recipient of the Hopwood Award.

He received the prestigious National Book Award in 1972 for his Selected Poems.

He was born and raised in Manhattan and died of complications from AIDS at the height of the epidemic.

He and author Neil Algren were both recipients of the National Book Award.
