ABOUT HOWARD SPRING
Welsh author and journalist best known for his novels Fame is the Spur and My Son! My Son!.
He worked in offices during the day and studied English, mathematics, and history at night at Cardiff University before becoming a journalist.
His novel, Fame is the Spur, was made into both a feature film and a television series that aired on the BBC.
He was married to Marion Howard Spring until his death in 1965.
Michael Redgrave starred in the film adaptation of his novel Fame is the Spur.
