ABOUT IAN GIBSON
Irish biographer and Hispanic studies scholar. He won the James Tait Black Memorial Prize for his 1989 biography of author Federico García Lorca .
After graduating from Trinity College, Dublin, he taught Spanish literature at several English and Irish universities.
He published his debut Spanish-language novel, Viento del Sur, in 2001.
He was born to a Methodist family in Dublin, Ireland. He later attended school in Waterford, Ireland.
He wrote La vida desaforada de Salvador Dalí, a 1998 biography of Spanish artist Salvador Dali .
