Professional journalist and broadcaster whose career peaked when he was named the Director of Programs at Channel 4 in 2018. Previously, he was an editor at The Guardian and for the BBC Two show Newsnight.

He studied politics, economics and philosophy at New College at the University of Oxford.

He was a contact of WikiLeaks' Julian Assange while employed at The Guardian.

He married businesswoman Justine Roberts. They have four children.

He was a colleague of journalist Jonathan Freedland while working for the Sunday Correspondent.
