Ilya Prigogine
ABOUT ILYA PRIGOGINE
Belgian physical chemist who is best known for his work on irreversible thermodynamics. He was awarded the 1977 Nobel Prize in Chemistry for his research into dissipative structures.
He studied chemistry at the Free University of Brussels, where he later became a professor.
He was born in Russia a few months before the Russian Revolution, and his family was forced to flee several years later due to their criticism of the Soviet Union.
He had a son with his wife Maria Prokopowicz after marrying in 1961.
His theories on determinism conflict with those of Albert Einstein 's.
