ABOUT IRVING KAHN

Financial manager and practitioner of the value investing methodology developed by Benjamin Graham . He headed Kahn Brothers Group, Inc., a company that he founded with his sons Allen and Thomas.

He started his career in 1928 and made his first trade only a couple of months before the 1929 Stock Market Crash.

After graduating from City College of New York, he became a teaching assistant at the Columbia University Business School.

At the age of 108, he was still active in the financial business. Longevity ran in his family: his sister Helen lived to be 109; his brother Peter died at 103; and his other sister, Lee, lived past her 101st birthday.

He and Warren Buffett both worked as assistant teachers under Benjamin Graham .
