ABOUT ISMAEIL MATAR

Emirati soccer player who kicked off his senior career with the UAE Pro League club Al Wahda in the year 2001. In the year 2009, he was loaned to Qatari club Al Sadd. At the international level, he led the United Arab Emirates national team to victory in the 18th Arabian Gulf Cup.

He played youth soccer for Al Wahda between the years 1997 and 2001.

He was the UAE Pro League Player of the Year for 2006. He was also a 2007 Arabian Gulf Cup top scorer. He experienced a cheekbone fracture during the Arabian Gulf League in late 2018 and had to undergo surgery as a result.

He has two children named Alia and Ali.

He and Allan Marques have played together as teammates for Al Wahda.
