ABOUT ISMAEL MIRANDA

Beloved salsa singer referred to as "The Pretty Boy of Salsa" in his homeland of Puerto Rico. He is known for classic salsa numbers like "Lupe, Lupe."

As a teenager, he and his group The Class Mates were featured on the Jerry Lewis ' Muscular Dystrophy Telethon.

A recording of one of his 2002 concerts was so acclaimed that it was officially recognized by the National Foundation of Popular Culture of Puerto Rico.

He moved to Long Island with his parents and uncle when he was four years old.

He and Frankie Ruiz are two of Puerto Rico's most recognizable salsa stars.
