ABOUT ITA BUTTROSE
Journalist and businesswoman who founded Cleo magazine and was editor of Australian Women's Weekly.
She began working when she was 15 years old as a magazine copy girl.
She was the youngest person to have been appointed editor of the Weekly.
She married Alasdair Macdonald in 1963 and together they had two children.
She and Bono were both active in humanitarian efforts related to AIDS prevention and treatment.
