ABOUT JACK CLEMO
British poet and author whose works include Wilding Graft (novel) and The Clay Verge (poems). He also published a 1949 autobiography entitled Confessions of a Rebel.
He was raised by his mother after his father was killed in World War I.
He went deaf at age twenty and blind at age thirty-nine.
He married Ruth Peaty when he was fifty-two years old and expressed his tremendous love for her in his later poetry.
He was born in the same year as British Labour Party politician Harold Wilson .
