ABOUT JAMES FOX
British actor who played an aristocrat in A Passage to India and portrayed Mr. Salt in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory . His role in the 1963 film The Servant earned him a BAFTA Award for Most Promising Newcomer.
He attended the Harrow School in London as part of a family tradition.
He played the character Lord Darlington in the 1993 film The Remains of the Day. Among his many appearances on camera, he has acted in hit TV shows such as Downton Abbey and Utopia . Throughout his lengthy career, he has preformed in over 100 different TV shows and films.
His niece is actress Emilia Fox . His son is actor Laurence Fox and his daughter is actress and producer Lydia Fox .
In 1970, he co-starred with Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger in Jagger's debut film Performance.
