ABOUT JANE AIKEN HODGE
British-American writer known for her works of historical and detective fiction. Her novels include Wide is the Water, Judas Flowering, and Shadow of a Lady.
She graduated from both Oxford University and Radcliffe College.
During the early 1940s, she was employed by Time Magazine.
Her sister, Joan Aiken, had a career as an author of children's fiction and supernatural novels.
Her father was novelist and Pulitzer-winning poet Conrad Aiken .
