ABOUT JANE KRAMER

Journalist known as the European correspondent for The New Yorker and for her Letter from Europe column.

She earned her bachelor's in English from Vassar College in New York.

In 1981, she received a National Book Award for Nonfiction for her book The Last Cowboy.

She was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island.

She and politician John Lodge are both Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur.
