ABOUT JANE LANGTON
American writer and children's book author who is best known for her novel The Fledgling, which won the prestigious Newbery Medal.
She studied astronomy at both Wellesley College and the University of Michigan.
Many of her novels are set in Concord, Massachusetts.
In 1943, she married Bill Langton. They had three sons.
She and Cynthia Rylant were both awarded the Newbery Medal.
