Javier Balboa
ABOUT JAVIER BALBOA
Spanish-born winger who's represented Equatorial Guinea at the international level. He's spent much of his domestic career in Portugal's Primeira Liga with the likes of Benfica, Beira-Mar, and Estoril.
He joined Real Madrid's youth team in 1999 and made his debut with the first team during the 2005-2006 season.
While with Real Madrid, he played on loan with Racing Santander in 2006-2007. He joined Saudi team Al-Faisaly in 2015.
He comes from both an athletic and political family, as epitomized by a grandfather and great uncle who both played professional soccer and participated in a coup.
He and Renato Sanches have both played for Benfica.
