She earned her first on-screen credit in a guest starring role on the TV series Dante's Creek in 2004.

She rose to widespread prominence for her role as Ashley in the 2009 film American Pie Presents: The Book of Love. She first played Agent Emilia Harcourt in the 2021 movie The Suicide Squad .

She began dating director James Gunn in July 2015. On February 20th, 2022, the couple announced their engagement. They married in September of the same year.

She has starred alongside Keir O'Donnell on the CMT series Sun Records.
