ABOUT JER'ZHAN NEWTON

Football defensive tackle who was selected by the Washington Commanders in the second round of the 2024 NFL draft. He was the No. 26 overall pick. He had a foot injury that prevented him from participating in the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

He attended Clearwater Central Catholic High School in Clearwater, Florida.

He played college football for the University of Illinois Fighting Illini. He recorded 18 sacks in four seasons. He tied Moe Gardner for the most sacks by an Illinois defensive tackle.

He has four brothers. Jervon Jr, Jerquan, and Jerjuan all played football. His youngest brother, Jershuan, was an athlete.

He attended the same high school as Riley Cooper , Colin McCarthy , and Jeff Smith .
