ABOUT JESS SMITH

Scottish author and storyteller whose work focuses on the experiences of Scottish travelers. Her books include three autobiographies titled Jessie's Journey, Tales From The Tent, and Tears for A Tinker.

She lived with her parents and seven sisters on a bus from age five to 15.

In 2014, she led a campaign to save the Tinkers' Heart, a monument in Argyll, Scotland. In 2012, her seventh book was published, titled Way of the Wanderers.

She has two sons and a daughter.

She is one of many authors who write about travel, including Bill Bryson .
